Are there any upgrades for the DIY guy with a 6.0 like the wicker wheel for the 7.3 guys?
Don't want to spend big money on non vgt or custom VGT.
I just replaced my stock turbo with a ebay turbo and saw how easy it is to get into everything. Any easy upgrade parts for us?
housing and inducer wheel I believe that you can upgrade without having to go full blown aftermarket. Although I'm a big fan of going with all out aftermarket. If you couldn't have guessed that about me.
now oz! Be nice to tex! He can't help it if he thinks he needs to go overboard to haul a couple shetland ponies!
The irony of that is that I actually do have a mini horse(smaller then a shetland) that I haul around. However, I will say this the bigger turbo does help haul his fat 250 lbs around.
yeah my turbo seem to spool quicker after my Banks Techni Cooler/Air Intake Elbow was installed. also helps with EGTs too which is super important if you run a tuner
That's not for me.
I'm looking for cheap thrills, I don't tow heavy, race, nor rag my truck.
I have more HP now than I can use. This is an old mans toy and family
vacation truck. I was more looking for sound, and or reliabliity than performance.
Any ideas?
Everything in my siggy will help with reliability(I know more then you wanted to spend, but it does help with reliability). Not to mention the sound is awesome too.
You do have some nice stuff, but I'm on same path on the cheap!
new stock injectors < 10K
almost new stock turbo(from ebay , bearly dirty, no crude )
STUDS
SCT w/spartan tunes( waiting on FICM tuning)
Don't really want to pay for a regulated return,
Looking for a Fuel crossover line to eliminate the deadhead.

In that same vain then, fabricate yourself an egr delete. Although I would say if you splurge one time, splurge on the RR kit as I do not believe the fuel crossover increase fuel pressure(which I could be wrong) increases pressure and the Ford factory settings are not good enough for the desired pressure that those injectors need, couple that with an in-cab fuel psi gauge you'll be able to spot and treat pressure loss when that stock pump goes out on you(and it will, factory stuff does break down and when mine did I just replaced it with better aftermarket parts) and hopefully not lose injectors that you just paid for. Think of it as investment for security of the truck and not a toy and that might help you a little bit more.
