I LOVE this bronco. this is the best diesel conversion i have ever seen. it was for sale in st.louis, MO a year or so ago, and i wanted it BAD. it was owned by one of the designers of the bronco, and he changed EVERYTHING! It has the correct "wait to start" light in the dash and everything. the thunderbird steering wheel looks HORRIBLE!...but that can be fixed, haha. I want it SOOO bad, if i can afford it (so don't you guys run the price up too high ). i never thought id have another chance to get it, but well......here it is!
Very nice and I wouldn't mind owning it myself. Very good condition and (I think) one of kind. I can forsee this one going anywhere between 15 to 20K. Maybe even more.
I'm curious to know what he paid for it, and how much his reserve is.
Anyways, good luck. I hope this one goes to a perfect home.
I was in love with it until I read it had a 4inch body lift - crazy! Maybe he meant suspension lift, because everything else is so well done it would be hard to imagine they cheaped out and used a body lift that big on it. (especially an engineer). Maybe it was needed to clear the engine? I don't think that the front half of a bronco is much different than an F250/350 though as far as room in the engine compartment.
no its a body lift paul, look at the pic of the front suspension. pretty level across and no lift brackets. im guessing the body lift was for the engine and trans clearance. the thing that gets me is the rearend, didnt ford put stock lift blocks inall its trucks??? even my ranger had them.
There's no 4" body lift on that thing. The frame would be glaring and those EB steps would be really ugly. The suspension shot look stock, so I figues a 2or 3" body lift. All the same, I would not have dropped a 7.3L onto a stock bronco TTB. That thing is sitting pretty level to have that much meat under the hood. So, there is other things at work here. They seller admits he know little to nothing about the rig. A true under and over inspection would be needed before I'd consider bidding.

True, blocks are stock. Something has been done to the rear, notice how the rear wheel is not center in the wheel well? This one needs to be gone over especially well.
My 78/79s had a wedge block for pinion angle (about an inch) on the rear axle. Thats what those year broncos had, I don't know about the other ones. Looks like a 3inch puck in that shot Tony, I didn't even see that picture.
yeah i dotn think its a 4 inch lift either but its definatly a body lift. and i see what your saying a little block could be hidin in that pic but that stupid ebrake cable is in the way. whats the metal rod hanging above the drive shaft??? my arrow points right to it. looks like a old exhaust hanger to me. top notch stuff right there.
seems to me this is a good deal and a really nice bronco, but , i would take a lot of caution buying it. i think the builder did an excellent job but the new owner seems to have done some wierd things and id be a little worried as to why he is now selling it. i think hes tryin to get someone as his drive to socal prob messed something up and now hes trying to dump it off.. wait it prob wont pass emissions in cali. but i would still be leary about anything that has been done to it or its condition.
That is a mufller hanger in the way. And it looks like a customer leaf pack as well. Thanks for blowing up the photos. It'd be a treat to see this thing up close. Nothing I'd go that far to look at, though.
It's got the Diesel front bumper on it as well. There are a lot of good points about it, that's certain. Still, too many variables. A thorough inspection would be needed. The seller is certainly responsive. Pics are going up as we type...is he reading our posts???
after rereading it a million times i dont think he is trying to screw anyone over. he has answered to the "best" of his ability and not tried to hide anything as i can tell. maybe hes just not mechanically inclined. i say this because he did not know the rearend or trans but he was honest enough to post a pic of them. good on him.
