Is there any way to beef up a BW1345? Like Way bigger Yoke's or even Flat flanges like the 1356? I would change to a 1356 but I need a Speedo and none of the 1356 have a speedo drive that I know of.
They've each got their pro's and con's but either one (provided it's well built) will do fine. Something you might consider though is it would be easier to find parts for a 1356 than it would be a 1345...
strength wise, I believe they are about equal. The chain virtually the same in both.
Ok I'm thinking I need the one from a 96 or 97 F350 PSD then, I think its a 4405? I need it to handle alot of HP and torque and I am just scared the 1345 I have now cant handle it.
The 4405 is in ranger and explorer's. A 97 f-350 would have a 4406 but again, the chain is virtually the same as 1356 and 1345. If your concern is in the chain then maybe consider a 271 out of a '00 and up....not sure what year they started but the chain is about 1 1/2 times bigger than the regular 1/2 ton trucks. Actually the entire transfer case is bigger....the rear output shaft is about 2" thick!! It has both front and rear bolt-on flanges and a way beefier pump. http://www.schoolstreettruck.com/7-1...ocess-271f.jpg
