hey i just bought my first 460 a 96 f 350 wow these engines have alot of power much more than my old 351w had.I want to put headers on this truck and im wondering whats a decent brand at a cheap price?
buy doug thorly headers there on the pricey side but they work very well. they give alot more low end power. i have them on my 94 460 and love them. just my 2 cents
Dougs seem to be nice indeed, but (as i have a 460EFI) am looking for headers also, i'm curious which type you have in your '94, Littlebigfoot...
Is it in a truck, or a car?
I have a Lincoln in which i want to throw the 460EFI in, but not sure if i can use the truck headers due to clearance issues...
At prices fron approx. $650 and up, it seems like an expensive try-out, so if anybody vcan tell me more on forehand, it would be nice...
thanks.
i have a 94 f-350 4x4 with a efi 460 and manual tranny. i got the thorly tri-y chrome plated headers. i had to modifly them to fit because they are for a automatic tranny but it was not a big deal. they also have there own y pipe that hooks up to the exhust. i am very happy with them they were a little pricey but i always beleaved that you get what you pay for. with you application you may want to email them and ask what they think. hooker headers are also good ones to use. i have had them before but for a truck nothing bets thorly headers. my 2 cents
Yes?
Do you indeed notice a increase in torque/power?
And then, thats with a single or a dual exhaust output?
As far as i know of, i've only seen single output's on the thorley's..
Not a real problem, but i love duals...
I have to fabricate the exhaust all over again anyway, so it wouldn't be such a problem anyway...
Do you have some pictures of it?
I want to take a look if they would fit my specific application, as i have a car and not a truck.
Already sent a message to DT headers, but no reply so far....
thanks!
i have always preferred tuned length/4 into 1/s or extractors as they are called here in
