I haven't had any organs, but I have received blood myself before, but the cool thing is, I had started donating before having to receive... 1st time was an emergency, second time planned.
Every 2-months the Red Cross calls me up looking for a donation. I go down there every chance I get. It usually takes about an hour and a half before I get out, but it's worth it. Best of all they feed you afterwards and sometimes they will give away T-shirts! LOL
I'm also an organ donor. I'm not looking forward to that day though! LOL

O Neg here. I do as often as there is a blood draw and I am in town.
I know that they have to be carefull, but I wish they could streamline the interview process a bit. It takes longer to go threw all of the questions than it does to actually give the blood. At this point in my life, the answers will not change from the last 20 times I gave blood.
I have donated blood twice. Once I got paid for it and used the money to give to a guy in training school in the Navy to pay a fine. The 2nd time was after 911. Both times I felt like passing out though. The organ donor to me is a no brainer and since I won't be in any condition to worry about passing out that part won't be a issue. I had a friend that when his wife died they donated the corneas to two different people so that they could see again. He said that at least that way he could see some good coming out of her death.
