Do you have a paint code? That would make it easier to trace for most of us. I believe it was the same COLOR BUT WON'T KNOW FOR SURE. i BELIEVE THE COLOR WAS dARK sHADOW gREY.
05 was when they went to dark stone but dark shadow grey was still offered as it is today. Dark Shadow is a true dark grey, where as dark stone is a charcoal beige
My 04 superduty book , the ones that are in the racks on the sales floor,lists the color as dark shadow grey metallic , but it does not list the paint code. No other grays , only the light silver color.
If it is a CX code paint on the cap it will be a match. I can tell you from experience that metallic grey is one of the hardest colors to match. So there might be a bit of difference even if it is CX code paint.
