I've got an 01 Ex that's silver with dark gray lower cladding. I want to paint the lower skirts of my camper to match the dark gray cladding. My exterior paint code is YN(iirc), which is the silver color. Where can I get a paint code for the cladding? The local paint supplier wants a code and not just try to match.

 

I know a few people that have tried to figure it out with no actual luck. Best bet is to go by a paint and bodyshop supplier that can "scan" the panel and custom mix the paint. They have a special camera that figures it out for them. For example, Keystone, they custom mix paints all the time and every store that does is supposed to have a camera.

 

Ford doesn't actually give it a code. They just call it charcoal.

I actually have a tube of touch-up paint from Ford that matches the gray/charcoal cladding on my 2005 XLT. I got a minor nick and wanted to touch it up.

Friends at the local body shop found the code. The touch up paint from Ford is a ALBZ-19500-6041A. Paint code is YB, YM, YN, Y9.
