I need some brackets that just are not available at the wrecking yards near me.
I need the mounting brackets for an 86 460 as installed in an F250 4X4. If anyone has removed these from their engine and they are no longer needed, I could sure use them. Will pay a reasonable fee and shipping!
I'll be glad to check at the yard this weekend for you as I know I had seen one 460 w/ the dual smog pump brackets there. I'll try and take some pics too.
One problem was there are different brackets for it seems every year and application. IE: I have not seen another 86 F250 4x4, with the same brackets I had, I had a single air pump on a California Emission truck most had 2 air pumps. Bottom line be sure and get ALL the BRACKETS from same truck.
I believe that 100%. I'm going to take some pics of the set up on that truck I saw i the yard and try to post them before this weekend. It was a carburated 460, but I cannot remember off hand if it was 4X4 or 2X4.
Well, I went to the salvage yard around the corner from me and they still have the 1987 2x4 auto F-350 w/ the carb'd 460. It has the complete dual air pump smog set up complete with everything from the brackets, hoses, pumps, tubing everything. Did not have time to stop and get my cam as they are closing just around when I get home from work. I do not know if anyone can say for certain if these dual air pump brackets will work on your 460 or not. Won't be able to get pics until this weekend unless I can get out of work early, but if they will work for you, would be more than happy to help you and get them for you. The yard always gives me cheap prices.
Nice pics - that's exactly the set-up on the salvage yard F-350 (87 460 carb'd, but that truck was a 2x4 auto). Maybe somebody could confirm if the salvage yard dual air pump brackets will work on E30tdf's 86 460. If so, I'd be glad to get them for him
OK, succes at the yard. I was able to easily remove the "boomarang" bracket and the (3) bolts that go with it. I through some pics. I'll PM you to find out where to ship to. I hope this fits fine your 86. This came from 87 F-350:

Removed air hoses, etc and 1 air pump:
Close up of the bracket I think you need:
The salvage yard is literally 1 minute from my house - they treat me good. It is never a problem for me to help out. Half the time, I get to learn more about my truck and other Ford trucks in the process by getting parts for other FTE members.
