I am having a small problem. I hope someone can shed some light. I have just replaced my stock 302 intake with Edelbrock 2121 and replaced the stock 2 barrel carb with a Edelbrock 1406 4 barrel on my 1973 F100. After getting everthing back together and having to do a engine flush. I had no problem getting it started. I drive it couple days a week but I guess I Knocked out the timing but not really sure. When I leave a light it has a little sputter to it. But once I get going it runs fine. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know.

IMO , I'd say that new carb needs minor tuning to tweak it to
optimum performance.
Accelerator pump may need adjusting,it has happened to me before when swapping carbs.
Is there 3 different settings on that carb for the accelerator pump?
As far as timing goes, maybe check it to be sure it's alright.

Most of the time the Edelbrock is plug and go with little or no adjustment. You can give Edelbrock a call, however, and they will take you through a few steps to make sure your carb is setup correctly. I would also check for a vacuum leak, could be the gasket under the carb, or a cracked hose or even leaking around a vacuum port. Make sure the nuts on the carb have not backed off and are torqued down correctly.
Hey thanks for the help.
1st. TDC is 8 degrees BTC I was about 12ish.(give or take a ish)
2nd. I had two vacuum lines backwards.
3rd. also went ahead and messed with the accelerator pump settings.
I have noticed a very big difference with the motor.
I can say that she is ready to dance.
Next step is to change out the exhaust system to dynomax headers and mufflers. So I can free up the bottle neck.
Thanks again guys
