Coolant under hood?

Yesterday I was towing a racecar, 6000lbs maybe, and all of the sudden my temp skyrocketed and the check gauges light came on. It went right back down, so I thought nothing of it, and continued on to the racetrack. I popped the hood when we got there, and the coolant was a little low, but not too bad. I drove it home and it behaved like normal. This morning, I went out, and it took about 2 quarts to fill the overflow back up. I drove it about 3 miles (up 2 big hills) came back, and there was coolant all over the driver's side of the engine bay and it took another 2 quarts to fill it back up.

All of the fluid was up high, no dripping around the head gasket area at all (that was my first thought was a blown head gasket). Gotta wait until morning to call the dealer. Anyone have any idea where it might be coming from?

It would make sense that it is blowing out the cap, because it is on top of the battery, etc. Is the cap made to do that from the factory?

Not sure. But I believe it is a pressure cap.

Well I was hoping for a cheaper solution but at least you got a definitive answer. Good Luck!
