I saw this thread pop up a couple times and did some looking around. The one button I liked the look of was in the Honda S2000. A quick search found the following thread that was excellent for wiring and listing parts: revlimiter.net - S2000 Start Button
A trip to the Honda dealer, NAPA and the local computer store had all the parts collected. Pop out the cig lighter and massage the opening a little, a little wiring and done. You still need the key for power but the button does the starting. It even kept the safety feature of only starting in park.
Do you really need this, of course not. But I like it
No offense taken, one persons taste does not always capture another. That's what I like about this site, from straight resto to all out drag trucks and everything in between.
The fuel & nitrous pressure gauges use the Autometer rings that angle them toward the driver. They work great and make it easy to read.
I've got a cab in storage, as I do different things I find what I like and what I want to change. Within a year or two I'll strip the present truck and swap the running gear and use the new body. Only time and money slowing me down
Not to hi-jack 77460ford, but I have a few questions for ya
do you run the stock pump with that hydrolic pump for your oil?
also could you tell me what you used again?
I am going to start looking for one
and last but not least, what do they call that fiberglass piece behind your cab?
I love that, you have the baddest truck I have ever seen
The key is required for power, not start. You can turn the key to the start position but nothing happens because the "Start" button is wired in it's place. This means you need a key to get the truck moving.
The gauges to the lower left are moving to the dash in place of the radio, easier to see at a glance. The gauges and switches to the right of that all look after the nitrous system.
The pre-luber is a 12Vdc sealed hydraulic pump found on lawn tractors, it's plumbed into the pan and back of the block. I found mine in a buy and sell paper locally and it's been trouble free for many years. Not much work for it really.
The fiberglass rear fairing is a LUND racerback, it also has held up well to years of use and abuse .
An F-18 could be considered to have messy dash too, but I would trade a ******** for a test drive (fly) in one. The same could be said for 77460ford's truck.
If I had a BB on nitrous, I would want plenty of gauges to keep tabs on it. And redundant gauges to keep an eye on the regular gauges should they fail.
And switches... Lots of switches... Neatly arranged switches.
Now just figure out the technology of those factory keyless ignition systems and do away with the old keyswitch altogether. That would finish it off.
