dash swap
2006 F350 XLT looking to swap out dash with a 2006 Lariat dash.. The only difference other than the wood trim is the AC/heat controls.. the lariat dash I have found comes with the digital controls but my truck has analog controls currently.. my question is.. is the truck temped out for both.. is it a simple swap? or will the Lariat AC controls not work in my truck.. any help would be appreciated as I need to make a decision by tomorrow.

There's more to it than just the control head in the dash. From what I have read there is a couple of other parts you need and they don't come cheap. Seems like everybody who has asked this in the past decided against it due to time, money, etc.

It is very difficult and expensive to add the EATC system to the XL or XLT trucks and the opening in the dash is different for the two setups on the 05-up trucks. I would suggest you look at the aftermarket stick on dash kits, or a place like OEM Dash.com :: Custom Dashboards & Kits :: Elkhart, IN if you want woodgrain.

guys.. thanks for the feedback.. I wasn't as set on the woodgrain as I was on the upgraded AC/heat controls.. and I also have trouble passing up a deal.. so when I found a post on ebay for the dash & gauge cluster from the same year as mine.. the wheels started to turn.... I know.. I know.. a mind is a terrible thing to use sometimes..
