I test drove a used 97 f 350 automatic 4x4 (460) today I was thinking of buying to lift.i put the truck in 4x4 without turning the hubs and the 4x4 lights went on in the dash and then i put it in low 4x4 and the low light went on to.i took the truck out of 4x4 and the 4x4 dash lights went out i put the the truck in park and shut the the truck off and was talking to the guy and his truck started to move about a foot or so he jumped in and said i had the truck in 4x4 neutral thats why it moved but the truck was in park i dont get it.Doesnt sound right to me is this guy right about why the truck moved or something more wrong with this f 350?i dont wanna buy a lemon.thanks guys
i thought i had the 4x4 shifter all the way up out of everything even netutral but i guess i didnt .i forgot there was neutral on the shifter guess i wanst thinking for some reason.thats for the info....
I took a pic of a 4 wheel shifter out of a 96 350 i had same thing see the netutral on the shifter you must of saw the light go out and thought had it all the way out. When the shifter is in N the light goes out push it more it goes back on into 4 wheel high then push once more goes into 2 h thats back into 2 wheel drive.the truck will move when its in N even in park like they all say next time make sure it back into 2 h you dont want your truck to roll away and crash.sorry for the blury pic.
