We are in need of some major help. We have a 95 ford explorer 4.0 4x4. Lately we will be driving down the road and it just dies like it is out of gas but it isn't and after about2 or 3 mins. it starts right up. So we took it to Auto Zone to run the codes and see what is going on. Well they said it was code 4095 but they didn't know what that code was for..Could someone Please help us! Thanks
They used the one under the wheel. They never hooked it up under the hood. If you can tell I don't know much about this. I don't own a pressure gauge and also I do hear the pump running when it won't start. Thanks so much for the response. We just don't know where to go from here and don't have the money right now to put it in the shop and pay a big bill. Thanks
AZ didn't pull the codes correctly. The 95's have a dummy OBDII port under the steering wheel. The codes need to be pulled from the OBI/EECIV connection under the hood. Get them to pull the codes again. The next time it won't start, I suggest checking for spark since it sounds like the fuel pump is running. It could also be a bad FP regulator or maybe a clogged fuel filter. You need to determine if it is a fuel delivery or spark issue.
