1999 F150 4x4 extended cab front axle noise
I just got my first Ford in 5 years and am overly excited to have it. I did find a noise I am not happy with though that is coming from the front end and you can feel a vibration as well. When I turn left and right it gets louder and I noticed also when I got underneath and tried to shake the cv shafts there was some movement in the flanges that are in the axle housing that the cv shafts bolt too. No movement in the cv shafts to speak of. I would think that being when I turn it is the wheel bearings but is it normal to get some movement out of the flange that is in the ends of the front diff housing? they aren't leaking at all? thanx for any info!!!!!!

Welcome to FTE travisc406! You may want to check the antisway bar links. The antisway bar should be solidly attached to the control arms by some end link bolts. There is a plastic cover over the bolts that hides the bolt. These tend to rust away and break off. You can grab the bar and move it up away from the control arm easily if the link is broken. Good luck!
