Steve, the Chapter Lead for the Southern California chapter sent me a PM and email about a fun idea. Here is his idea. I combined both messages.
Hi Karl.
... here is some info on theF100 Western Nationals in late June down here in Anaheim? I thought the event might hold possibilities for a joint G2G with the two chapters.
Maybe run it by your members and see what they think?
Lots of camping/RV spots here, and the show is nothing short of spectacular.
I think it is a great idea. It might be hard to get something going that soon, but sounds like a great show. I am also planning on inviting all of you to my place in Vallejo for some grilling and to go see Dan (TigerDan) at the Pirate Festival on Saturday, June 14th.
We should see if either of these get togethers are do-able. Even if only a couple of us could get down to Southern California, it would be a great time. I also want us to think about another chance to meet up with our Southern neighbors later this year.
fastmover, the june 14th is very doable for me and my family. not sure about the southern one???
please keep up posted about both activities... i would just have to make plans about 1 month in advance. since i have 1 week of vacation time and 1 week of sick time coming to me.
Tough to make a run to SoCal right now with gas and $$ heading in the opposite direction, but cashing in at Karls place sounds like a plan...just have to remind myself to line my pockets with baggies...you know, so the food I smuggle out won't leak
Well Karl the meet at your place sounds like fun and do able i will mark it on my calender hopefully brownie will be smogged by then that would be a good test run for her. just keep a tow vehicle on hand please.it will be her first run of that distance.
