Looking very much forward to getting it on the track
This is with the newest revision of the 250Drag calibration. EGR disabled, DOC and DPF removed. This file is producing in excess of 500RWHP from 2600RPM to 3400RPM, with peak boosting of around 52lbs.
The smoke is pretty significant; more than what I'd consider to be a haze. Smokes similar to a set of stage II or stage III injectors would equal with the 6.0. I'd say that we are quickly approaching the airflow limits of the stock turbochargers at this point.
Engine and Transmission hardware at this point is still utterly and completely bone-stock. I am honestly in disbelief at the punishment the truck is standing. I don't know if I'm just damn lucky or they really are this tough, but I would not have speculated the stock hardware handling this kind of power and torque
Cab is coming off tomorrow for new injectors, high pressure turbo, low pressure turbo, and our new alpha-test mechanical wastegate kit. I fully plan on pushing it until something gives... Who wants to make a bet?
I really, really want to run across a Duramax or Cummins on the way to TS. These engines are cream of the crop, my friends, and the "reign" of the former mentioned engines is short-lived. Even if they don't like it
I rarely get excited anymore over new toys to play with, but I am absolutely ITCHING to grenade the 10.5 rear axle in this truck with the new mods
How much bigger are you going with the injectors and turbos? First 6.4 to hit 1000hp?
Awesome news Matt.
I don't know exactly how far I will be going at this point. I doubt 1000 with this truck as it is still my daily driver, and no matter how you lay it out...1000 just becomes undrivable.
The next modifications, with a shot of nitrous, should bring us up close to 800. This will likely require some heavier internal modification of the engine and transmission.
The truck as it stands right now has NO turbo lag. None. Instant throttle response. I don't need INSTANT response like it has now in order for it to be drivable, but I do not want a pig. The turbos required to make 1000 on fuel become piggish quite quickly at those sizes. My 'Goal' is 650-675 on fuel and +/- 800 with a dry shot of nitrous. I'm confident that I can still maintain great drivability and the ability to tow at those levels.
Now, my 03 race truck (which will getting a transplant from 6.0 to 6.4 when time permits) will be a totally different story
Man I would love to see what you could do if you had a 6.4 in your race truck.
Didnt you say somthing a while back about going to a single turbo? (maybe on another forum)
oh and why injectors? I thought you said the stock ones would be good up to 800hp.
