[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Jan-02 AT 01:07 PM (EST)]Hello all,
Let me give you a rundown of what I have, I have a 1986 F150 4x4 XL with a vin # that says I should have a V6, but when I received the truck (exchange for a paint job) it had a 351W that had locked up, upper engine was removed, valve covers, intake, etc... I contacted my local junkyard they said that they had a 351W out of a newer Bronco that was automatic, they assured me that it would bolt right up :-) whell I had to replace lots, flywheel, waterpump, and exhost. Now i have started the engine, with only like three wires hooked up, the rest dont have the quick connections on them, in addition this has 30 or so vacume connections, not hooked up. I am lost the engine has never been driven, due to a seized tranny, so I dont know if the engine would stay running for more than 5 mins. Bottom line can anybody give me diagram or help on what should be connected, and I am not conserned about it being road legal, the emissions dont matter! what can I cut, what is needed?
Thanks To All!!!!!!!!

Wow talk about a gangle of spiders. LOL Personally I would remove most if not all and start from scratch. That way you can figure out what need. I would keep some pvc and vacum to run the brake booster. It's helped me in the past to get all of the crap out of the way to see what is where and what runs from it to where. I know it is frustation to open the hood and have wires everywhere. Start at the begining and disconnect the connections and label them with tape in matching #'s. ie... temp bulb 1, temp bulb connector 1. That way you can reassemble in the proper order. I hope this helps. Also if you remove vacum lines make sure to plug them up if you don't plan on reusing them.
Boy do I agree with airharley, a little masking tape and a pen has saved me tons of times. You will need a large vacuum line running to your brake booster, you need a small line running to the auto tranny (if you have one) and one running to a vacuum can on the fender that holds the vacuum to operate the heater and a/c gates, and you need a vacuum line to the vacuum advance on the distributor. All the other vacuum lines are used to switch the emissions equipment on and off. Make doubly sure that you have all the unused vacuum ports in the intake capped. I assume you have the EFI, so there may be some other vacuum sources needed for the throttle body or some other EFI function. I have a carb so I tend to think what is required for a carbed engine.
Chilton's has some good wiring and vacuum diagrams...or I went to the local junkyard and took pictures of a similar engine and pictures of the vacuum routing tag on the radiator support.
