I like your personalization as to your work, but where does it appear. I checked your galery and I cannot see the firefighter thing. Randy, I like your design. But I think it is too small for that location. Does not look right being directly below the stock emblem and so much shorter. It might be applied a little bit crooked too, which is never a good thing.
Diamond plate is not that special, it's just a texture pattern that caught on. I don't know for sure, but because of the references to it being a tread, I suspect it was used in aviation or marine applications to provide a non-slip surface to walk on. Smooth seems more pleasant to me.
The silver gradient doesn't do much for me either. It needs another color or to be subdued. Perhaps a bit of blue or purple to shade it.
I'm not a big fan of after market stickers. Guess I get that from my Dad. He almost had a heart attack back in the 70s when we went to Six Flags and the park employees went around and (without asking) placed those huge a$$ 4X20 inch bumper stickers on everyones cars. However, that one almost could pass for something factory. Don't take it off if you like it.
