From what I have read, it is all one assembly..Instructions read, disconnect battery cable, tilt steering wheel to lowest position, remove instrument cluster finish panel ( remove radio, loosen two screws in radio opening, use screw driver to carefully detach bezel retaining clips, pull bezel back, disconnect electrical connectors and remove bezel from vehical) pull the instrument cluster oput and unplug the electrical connectors from the back side, then remove cluster from instrument panel, on automatic transmission models, detach transmission range indicator.
It's easy to do Roy. As Pat described remove the radio. You can get a set of U shaped Ford radio removal clips from the auto parts store for less than $5. They slide in the holes on the radio and you just pull the radio out.
There are 2 phillips head screws above the radio you may want to loosen (I always forget to loosen mine, but it's a good idea) Then the upper portion of your dash panel just unsnaps. Disconnect the plugs on the back of the headlight switch, cigar lighter, & air bag key & just set the dash aside.
From there you'll see the 4 screws holding the instrument cluster in place. Remove the screws, flip the cluster over and you'll see where the bulbs plug into the back.
