Smile Dang! Almost time for 2009s?

Just checkin' in. I've been absent from the forum for a while and as I was reading through the recent pages I see guys talking about 2009 V10s! Just made me realize that I've had my '03 for almost 6 years! I got it in 9/02.

Is there anybody else out there who bought a 99-04 V10 SD new and still has it?

Most everyone seems to have two or three year old SDs. I'm still running my trusty old 6.8L/4sp with 3.73s and just can't come up with a good reason to trade it. So far I've replaced the brakes once, shocks, ball joints and wore out one set of tires. Still have the original 750 amp Motorcraft battery and the drivetrain still runs like new and gets the same 11mpg to 14mpg it did 5 years ago. Still not using any oil like all the local GM naysayers told me it would...most of them have been in and out of 2 or 3 POS GM or Dodge pickups by now!

Just turned 72000 miles and well on the way to my goal of keeping it at least 10 years or 150000 miles. The only negative thing I can come up with is that some of the under parts of the body are starting to show a few little rust (bottoms of doors mainly). Can't really notice them unless you look under there but I'm going to do something about it this summer. It's probably due to winter road salt etc but I don't give it a rest when the snow flies.

I'm running a 2000 Excursion with 102k on it. Not intending on getting rid of it until it hits 200k.

Still have my 03' with the same 4R100 and 3.73s that you have, heck I only have like 42,000 miles on it! No reason to trade unless someone else wants to make the payments on a new one for me, you can PM me if anybody would like to take me up on that offer, lol! Mine is a bit newer than yours though MountainHood, mine has a spring 03' build date, so actually mines only 5 years old lol!

Bought my 04' new in 04', it only has a tad over 30k on it and a bunch of $$$ in it in mods so I'm going to have the truck for at least another 10 years.

Got my 01 in the fall of 2001, 77,000 miles.
Replaced 1 set of tires, one battery, plugs at 66,000, tranny fluid at 30,000 and 65,000.
Couple of dings on all 4 sides, rear bumper-cant see, door - grocery cart, front left panel-boys skate board, right front panel - daughter putting in garage, right front bumper - son getting out of garage......

Yup an 09 3v with 4.30's would be great!!!
But I still have no good reason to get rid of one GREAT TRUCK!!

Be warned, last FORD truck - 1978 F150, I let it go with 385,000 on it...

I may be here a while....

2001 F250 v10 CC Short Bed 4.30 and 4-speed auto 2WD XLT.

Bought it Jan 1 2002 Brand New and got a great deal.
120,000 miles so far. Only needed regular care. Buy the way it still has the original motorcraft battery as well. New brakes up front and new pads in back at 98K. one window motor lots of new windows. A few other minor things. Still runs strong and still get about 13 mpg.
Truck has been great. Im surprized nothing has blown up yet, to be honest. Truck get worked hard both as a daily driver and work truck. I've towed some with from light flat beds to 12k LBS toyhaulers
Other than the cost of gas I have no reason to get a new one. I was bound and determind to get a new diesel for a while. Not anymore with increased cost and all the other issues. Almost got the lariet with the 5 speed auto but choose not to, it felt kind of sluggish. But on hind sight the extra gear would have been nice.
