What is a stroker motor and what actually changes the cubic inches

STROKER

I'm not expert but from what I've seen, the cylinders are bored out to a larger diameter and the crankshaft can allow for a longer stroke. Therefore you get more cubic inches. There's actually a calculation but I don't know what it is off-hand. I'm sure somebody else will know.

STROKER

The cylinder bores are not the key to stroking. The crankshaft is. A stroker motor has a crankshaft with a longer throw or swing. This in turn gives increased traveling distance of the piston in the cylinder or bore of the engine. The cubic inch of an engine is the bore area times the stroke length.

The formula for figuring cubic inch displacement is bore radius squared x pi (3.14) x stroke x number of cylinders.
