76 250 4x4 power steering cylinder(ram assist) (50XXX serial number) steering works fine as long as I top off fluid everyday. it leaks from the shaft seal at the end. I think i can replace this without to much trouble if i can get an o-ring part #.
I know do a search - I've read through everything and after sifting through it all I have 1 question:
What is the shaft seal ##. Even an old ford number so i can cross it. All my internal stuff works great - just leaks out the end i don't need to rebuild it.
Thanks - I'll save that, but that isn't what i'm looking for.
NOT the control valve, the cylinder on the front of the axle. The one that needs to be cut to change the inside packing, but you can change the shaft seal. I need the number for that shaft seal on the end just inside of the snap ring/and washer. Thanks again.

No, the ps on the truck has a hydraulic ram attached to the tie rod and the steering box is manual basically doesn't really matter now - sold it the other day
I have this same problem!! I need to know what to do about the leaking piston, leaks right out of the end. I've been doing searches but I can't really find an answer, and I can't find anyone who sells a new one!!
I was almost thinking of using a fork seal off a motorcycle, because I work at a kawasaki dealer. Buttt lets leave that as plan B!
