C6 Shift Linkage

I recently returned home from my Mom's Funeral. I hadn't driven my 1969 F-100 for almost two weeks. I got in it yesterday and drove to work, as usual. When I got bak in at the end of the day, the C6 would not shift into gear. I got out, checked the linkage and rocked her back and forth until she went into drive. On my ride home, everything worked normal. Now, it won't go into gear at all, so I re-inspect the linkage at the tranny and it's completely sheared off. Does anyone know a fix for this, where I can get repalcement parts and then how to replace the kinkage? I was told the linkage slips right off of the selector shaft, but it looks like I have to take the transpan off and do some disassembly. I prefer to do all of the work mysself as I am still learning about transmissions. Sorry this was so long winded, I hope someone can give me some pointers!

A few years back, my linkage did the same thing on my '63 (C6 transplant). I took the linkage and selector shaft out and welded it. It's held up for years.
You have to remove the valve body to get the shaft out. Remove only the 3/8 headed bolts, when reinstalling they're torqued to 100 inch lbs.
Don't froget to replace the selector shaft seal while you're in there.

Thanks

I'll be tackling the removal of the selector shaft this morning, then all I have to do is find someone to weld it back together for me!
