HPX line??? Spearco or 6.oL IC??? And what turbo for early 99 is best upgrade??
Thanx
HPX is an line that connects both oil rails, reducing the noise of the #8 injector. The #8 injector is the last in line for delivery of fuel and oil, thus it is starved.
The least expensive route for a turbo would be to go with a Dominator 66 from Beans Diesel.
All the other options require you to upgrade the pedistal and the spider to late models and then you still have the expense of the turbo.
You may also want to consitder finding a late model 17* HPOP, they produce higher oil pressures than your E99 15* HPOP.
I totally screwed that up, we are so use to talking/reading about the bad side of PMR's and never really say FMR, just say that we doin't have PMR's...or so we hope. I hope the early 99's don't have PMR's, I say that because I read in another post that some 99 may have had PMR's.
Thanx for the info...any specific order if I was going to do all 3 (turbo, hpop, injectors)
And I guess I need to look at cost vs selling and finding a low mileage 99.5-2001 and startin over....
Lots of em here due to $4.29 a gal
I'm gonna enjoy my new tunes for some time though.....
I feel ya, mine is paid for, so I won't be starting over.
I would go 17* HPOP, D66 turbo, then injectors. I go that route because you may be able to find a later HPOP for a song, and you can't support larger injectors until you upgrade the turbo and HPOP. That is the route I'm leaning toward.

With Big Oil, my noise went down slightly. I did notice a huge drop in noise when I did the regulated return.

I'd got the DI regulated return because ITP was backed up. Either would have been fine. RR is necessary because of the fuel starvation of #8. Even Ford was forced to recognized it and tried to "Band Aid" it with the Long Lead injector for #8
