I promised myself I wouldent do it. Then one day my buddy was over and we both did it. The zoodad is done. Now that I cut a hole though the pannel, will irregular gusts of wind cause an overboost situation. Say I'm flying down the road with a load and a gusty head wind. Its goning to have varying pressure in the intake. Will this cause disturbance in milage, prematurly failing boost regualator (is there is such a thing)?
I do think it pulls cooler air than that off of the radiator.
I think you'll be fine. We would have read about all sorts of blown up stuff if that was really a concern.
Besides your engine compartment isn't a sealed unit. If too much air were to get under the hood for some reason it would just flow down past the motor and exit under the truck.
Ya there is no way possible. You should be more worried about if this mod actually DOES ANYTHING. Im sure it brings a little cold air to the intake but the truck willnot act ANY different in a strong headwind, strong rain, or snow. Ive seen em all so far and no problems
We're not making fun of you Ryan, just sharing some old jokes. As Joe pointed out. You have nothing to worry about. He's put it to the test for you, along with Justin and several others.

Any comments or experiences????
thanks,

In all seriousness ( spelling) you can't give it too much....
Even with a 70 mph airspeed into your Zoodad, the increased dynamic pressure is only 3" H20 (0.1 psi) above static ambient pressure which is typically 14.7 psi at sea level, so it's less than a 1% increase. See post #25 here...

Oh my gosh! I think he drove thru a yard sale and obviously hit a lamp!
LOL. Ok, thanks guys. We would have heard something bad with air fluxuation (spell) by now.
I agree, the question is if it does anything at all?? Hopefully sand doensent stucco the filter.
Thanks for all imput
