Will a distributor from a 351W fit into a 360/390 FE?
I know this is a stupid question but worth asking, I have a brand new one for my 351W that I am not using right now and was just curious if it would work on my 76's FE 360/390 ( I haven't checked the stroke yet? I was told it was a 390 by the PO but only 360's came in that truck? but lord knows what has been done over the last 32yrs )
Thanks...Rick

I cant answer that with a yes or a no. Here's what I do know.. I ordered a custom grind cam for my 390 project. The cam shows up and is a (reground cam) ok..well it still had the stampings on it Crane 292-2H I looked it up.. it's a Cleveland cam so ?? Took the cam to the machinist and he verified it was not a problem We laid it up beside a stock 390 cam and it's one in the same with the 2 & 5 journals having grooves for oiling. So It's possible is what I'm saying.
Well that is encouraging! it looked close from the outside but that don't mean anything, and I don't want to pull my 390's dist just to find out it don't fit, my 76 f250 4x4 Highboy is my daily driver right now so I need to do the research first
( ask questions first, pull parts later )
Thanks, hopefully it will???? that would be nice
Darn it all to heck, here I was getting my hopes up, I was looking thru Jegs and the part numbers are very close to the same, Oh well it was just a thought, I dont need to start pulling that 351W motor apart any how i got too much time and money in it
Thanks....Rick
