97' F-150's speed

How fast can a 97' F-150 4.6L with a super chip go??? I am not gonna buy a 4.6L if I can't blow away a Mustang... If I but the truck I will put a Holley Thunder Supercharger in it. Do you think I could beat a GT with that? If not I am gonna go with a 5.4L or possibly a 95'-97' D*D*E R@m 1500 with a 5.9L Magnum -V8-I know it will haul ##### because my brother has one and he just put a new chip in it and he's getting ready to put a supercharger in it... Well, I really don't wanna get a D*D*E product but that might be what I end up with if the good old Ford engines won't get up and go when I need them to.

A 4.6 in a F150 is not going to beat a "stang" You can chip it, but it will not beat the Mustang. People I have talked to say that the 6 cylinder F150 feels faster than the 4.6.

I can tell you this. I have the 5.4 - with the chip and K&N filter. I have around 270-80 horse. The only way I would mess with a Mustang is to pull it out of a ditch.

The dodge's, well I've pulled them backwards in pull offs and I have not been impressed at all with their performance.

If you have the money, why don't you buy a Mustang and put a blower on it? Otherwise, get the SVT F150 and get the complete package.

The 4.6L has 270 horsepower, I guess I forgot to mention it is REALLY souped up. But I can't find a supercharger that will increase its HP to were I want it... I wish Holley made a Thunder supercharger for the 4.6L that would increase the HP like it does the 5.4L. Maybe that is something they are looking into right now. I sure as hell hope so...

Here is the info about the truck:

4.6L
SuperChip
AirRaid
Raven Dual exhaust
free flow hood
MSD wires
Plat+4
Accel Power coil packs
Fiberglass tonue cover w/ wing (125 lbs)

Umm it was said before but, a 4.6 in a truck isn't going to beat a gt. I know cause i am an enthusiast to both and like to race both . Hmmm... well i take that back, you can beat a gt with that hp but you better have GEARS,GEARS,GEARS,GEARS,GEARS,GEARS.
Why? becuase if you got your stocker 3.55 your not going to be able to get off the line THAT fast.. the stang will get you in the early and long run. if you have an auto, go with 4.11 gears (but there will be a price with your mpg) and then you can hang with them if not beat them

Well the top end is going to be tough,we're almost twice as tall as a Stang. Provides all the drag needed to slow us down. There is a guy on another 150 board with a completely tweaked 5.4 reg. cab and he's running 14:50's.
The only thing he hasn't done is a supercharger. That's plenty fast for it not even being an L. 5.9's aren't all that fast, from what I've heard. They are quick,though.,,,,98
