Considering 1989 F250.....

Hello!

I am considering purchasing an 89' F250. Besides for the obvious stuff such as rust, leaks, age related items, ETC, is there anything I should look out for on this model year? It's a 4 or 5 speed with around 107K, which is low mileage for the year. It's got some rust around the rear wheel-wells, which I am not overly concerned about. I'm not buying it for car shows, only to tow my small travel trailer, which is one reason I want an F 2 or 350, for the heavier suspension and bigger brakes.

Thanks,
Greg

The brakes are fair. They'll stop the truck alright, but the pedal does not feel firm at all. The pedal will want to go to the floor, but not quite. I've replace master-cylinder several time to no avail, so I just live with it. The braking system uses the 1st generation rear antilock system. BTW, I'm the original owner.
