I'm a little stuck here. I want to keep the under cab brake setup on my 54 and was looking at the power brake kit CCP has using the original pedal and mounts. The problem is on my 54 and now also on(found out today) the 54 donor the PO's (idiots) welded several parts together rendering for the most part the shafts and brackets useless. Now I've seen the setups on Ebay with the pedal with the kit but have been leary of some of that stuff. Is there a good kit which has the pedal with it or should i try to salvage what i have and go with the CCP kit?
Hey Wiz,
Half the thrill of getting these old trucks up to speed is knowing you can't stop'em very well!!!
I'm still running drums on all 4 corners...but you might call a couple of the rolling chassis shops that have complete setups and tell them how much you need.
I delt with Walton's Fabrication shop for my Toy steering and got a few things from them to complete it. They might beable to tell you or sell you all of the brackets you would need to convert the brakes.

If I had known about your situation a few months ago I would have given you the pedal arm and braket. I got a frame from a local salvage yard and stripped it down and put all my parts on it. Are you referring to the bracket that is bolted under the seat with the stud sticking out for the brack & clutch pedals to bolt to, if so I will check the shop where I did my swap to see if the old was is still there and usuable.
I think i have it figured out. The Po's on both my donor and my 54 went nuts with a torch on the shaft, Clutch pedal and bracket. My original intention was to keep it all intact so if i was to go back to a clutch set up it wouldn't be that much hassle. I managed to save one bracket and a brake pedal so I'm just going to use it and not worry about the clutch part. I'm going to put the kit from CPP in and from a previous thread a pin from MF to hold the brake pedal on.
