Alternator wiring help please
Ok I have an 86 f150 with the 302 and stock 60 amp alternator. I happened to have a used 94 mustang 130 amp alternator lying around. Since i need a bigger alternator for my stereo i thought i should give the mustang alternator a try. I took it to autozone to have it tested to make sure it still works and it does. So i go home take out my stock alternator change the pulleyes(sp) and install it into my truck. First off my stock alt has a 2 plug hook up and the new(er) one only has 1 plug and a sperate charge wire. I go fire it up and it doesnt charge. Am i missing something here, or will it not work? I hooked up a 4 guage wire to my battery and the plug, and plugged in my factory plug in to the alternator(same type plug, but dunno if it is the right one). Any and all help will be appriciated. Here is a picture of the new(er) Alt.
