Just sold my pickup today and the deal breaker was I would etest the truck (1994 F150 302).
I gutted the cats over a year ago because they were plugged and now I am wondering if a single aftermarket cat will work?? I would just cut in the single cat behind the stock.
Need to get this done by the end of the week! fingers are crossed hope she passes!

I have a car and had a local exhaust system Shop remove the Cat and went straight from the Exhaust Manifold straight to a Flowmaster Hi-Flow Muffler and it passed with flying colors. Primarily it was because the Emissions Technician did not even look underneath for a Cat. When I asked the Muffler Shop I asked the owner if I should keep the Cat just in case and he showed it to me at was completely deteriorated inside and worthless.
A trick that I learned from the car Forum is to change the oil, no more than a half-tank of fuel and make sure that the engine is at normal operating temperature prior to the test.
