I have a 2000 F350 4x4 w/ 7.3L with 180,000 miles and it just started actin up.
I used to be able to start the truck with out waiting for the WTS light to go off any time but know if I try to start it with out waiting it will hardly idle and the idle is eractic and it usually dies. So I shut it off and wait until the WTS goes off and it starts fine. ???? Also when it is at idle it just started to not idle very smooth, it has little variations. I just put a new ICP sensor and plug in but that did not cure it.
Any Ideas? Thanks Al
Sounds like you may be due for an oil change. Old dirty, thick oil will cause those problems. I dirty IPR will also do it. You should make sure the little tin nut on the back of your IPR hasn't gotten loose.
Well i have tried everything I can think of new IPR,ICP, Oil change ,ICP connector, new throttle pedal, new GPR. Still idles different lope when you first start it, no power when you push down on the throttle until until you get past half throttle then it is slow to excellerate for about a mile or two. I am not sure what to check now?
Maybe the ebpv valve getting stuck in the turbo?. Mine stuck one day i didn't let warm up and left out and had no power no throtle response until i pulled over for a minute, and went about my way and it cleared up. Others will chime in. Good luck.

Is it a ROMP ROMP ROMP idle you get in the morning when you start it, great big romps that sway the truck from side to side?
Sounds like thick, cold oil to me. What kinda oil are you running?
