finally done
ok so my father is the shop manager at firestone. so naturally i take it to him. i decide to rebuild front end. ball joints, tie-rod ends, and a new steering stabilizer. right side goes without incident. today he calls me. says both 4x4 u-joints are binding they need replaced. ok 120 for both napa greasables. calls me 30 mins later. bad news bud. ohh great here we go. the wheel hub is seized in the axle. either we burn it off or no ball joints, or 4x4 ujoints. so retail is 700 or 800 bux i guess. he got it from napa for 250.. all said and done for now. i did replace the rotors and pads up front but the rears are warped. you can feel em on the pedal. so on monday hes going to take em and get them turned and a new set of pads. i think the rears will hold up with the turning because they dont do that much work i dont think. i would have been screwed if i did all that work by myself, he had my truck for 3 days. the mechanic had over 13 hours on that project. ouch. guess i owe him a case of beer!
