Finally installed DP

OK, I finally got the replacement cable that we were waiting for to install my brothers DP. The previous one I had posted about earlier had a broken shield ground, which is still ok to install if you cut the other end of it too. See post here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ire-on-dp.html
Anyways, We took the truck for a test drive, and while "playing around" doing heavy excellerating, burn outs etc we noticed the SES light come on and then go out on it's own a few times. I have never seen this happen on my truck and we both have the Overboost Annihilator. Does anyone else know what may be tripping this?

BTW, I am definately going to send my chip to Jody to have the 80hp TOW tune installed. I ordered it on my brothers because I heard that it eliminated some kind of fuel tip in delay, and wow...That is one superior tune! I like it better than any other tune I have.

Check the code at the OBD11 see what it says. If its over boost than your gauge might need adj.

May be something with the HPOP not being able to keep up. I don't get the SES light in any tune.

Congrats on the install and tell your brother to have fun.

more than likely it is an undesirable ICP (injection control pressure) code from the HPOP not being able to keep up with what jody's tunes are demanding. Its nothing too terrible..

What Nic said. It will probably be a P1211 code. The ICP your HPOP is capable of is probably somewhere south of 2500psi during hard acceleration above 50MPH and your PCM is asking for more then throwing the soft code. Mine was doing that until Jody re-flashed the chip at Smokin', now it has not done it, even when I flogged it in the 8th mile drags. I am sure he changed the parameters in the new programming.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'll forward this info to him. I don't think he minds too much though, as long as he knows it isn't serious. He is damn happy with this addition. We just left a 60 ft patch of rubber on the road to "break in the new tuner"

I was told by jody that some trucks HPOP cant keep up with the chip and some can it just depends on your truck. shouldnt be a big problem though.

Whats the big differences between the 80econ and 80 tow tune?

All the differences to me are unknown as I only tested the tune personally for a few miles. I know it shifts faster and feels ready to go far more than the buildup of the 80 E tune. It reminds me of the 120 tune, but more set up with a truck linke mine with moderate mods done. I am definately doing this tune upgrade. The last person I heard on here was Kris (Strokin_7.3) talking about this tune way back, just can't recall where? Thanks Kris for putting the idea in my head to load my brothers DP with this tune.
