Well Iv had my DP installed for about 2wks now and LOVE IT. I finally had some extra time to position the F5 switch where I wanted but as I was doing so I noticed a single red wire on the connector end that hooks to the F5 seemed to be broken. The wire is on the opposite side of the connector as all the other wires and folds up and looks like it runs back up the wire loom. It hasnt seemed to have any effects on the operation of the DP or truck but I know it was there for a reason. I know Jodys out of town for a while and plan on contacting him when he gets back. Im just wondering if anyone else might have an idea of what this wire might be.
Should I continue to drive with the dp installed? I dont want to take a chance of screwing anything up.

I noticed this on my brothers DP wire harness today too. I have held out on installing though so as not to potentially fry anything. I will wait for the boss man himself to comment on this as to it being safe.

Well you'll be waiting for a while now, eh. He is on vacation with the family and on to Smokin'. FWIW I have the same cable sitting in front of me on my computer desk. It is as described and it was fine when it was removed from Izzy's truck. It will be installed when I am done with my tranny shift kit minus the chip. That will be reflashed at Smokin".
So you can either wait, or run that sucker which is what I recommend.
Is this the same situation that you are speaking of Mike? I trust your word being a veteran of this site, so I will try it out if you think it is good.
I, as well as Mike, was picturing a different wire that does not connect and is just looped. Glad you posted a picture to clear things up because that is definetly not supposed to be that way. Jody and Diane will get ya taken care of, whenever they get back from vaca
same wire is broke on mine too. all the tunes work well, except the lope idle, its not as pronounced as i thought it would be. i'm not sure if thats the reason though.
Do either of your trucks die intermittently? I know you said no problems, but I thought I would make sure. I have heard of shorted out cables that are causing this. (I think my truck is doing this, but wiggling the snot out of the cable hasn't yielded any results. I think the brake also comes into play...IDK)
I havnt had any problems so far, when I first saw it there were still 2 strands that werent broken, but after continuing to look at it and wiggling the wire to see if it had any effect, the final two strands broke (I know I shouldnt have been playing with it).
Hopyfully Jody or Diane can chime in and give me alittle comfort that Im not gonna fry anything. Since its not effecting anyting right now though Ill probably leave it installed.
