from the looks of it that truck was down there for a while, i meen seeing how there using chainsaws to cut through the ice and all. (watch) the whole series. ill bet that the cold severly weakend the strength of the steel, and ill bet that a ford wouldnt have faired any differently......thoughts?

thats ALOT of torque placed in the same place on only two steel beams right between bed and cab, with the cold, maybe rust, i dont know if anyhting but a steel gurder would hold up...pulling it like that at that angle was dumb, were they trying to flip it back over?

would be interesting to see what Ford would do

Start with part 1 and go through it all.

YouTube - Truck Goes Through Ice at Cedar Pond

Well, part 1 & 2 are just chainsaws cutting ice, part 3 is where they start pulling.

YouTube - Truck Goes Through Ice at Cedar Pond: Part3

Note the position of the cable in relation to the camera in part 3.

Not one of those people trying to extract that truck thought to pull from the side while it was still in the water to rotate the truck so the wheels were down?
