6.0L Intercooler swap

I have an opportunity to get a 6.0L Intercooler for my 2001. I know it's been discussed before. What sort of benefit might I see. I believe the 6.0 is supposed to have 25% greater cooling area. I tow a 12K 5th wheel and my egt's run around 850 on a flat run I let out when they get too far over 1000(That's in Florida's heat/humidity with the a/c on max). Thanks

As long as you keep pre-turbo EGT's under a sustained 1250, you shouldn't have any problems as it is now. With that being said, the 6.0 IC will only benefit you while towing. It will drop EGT's 100-150 degrees. Other than that, I saw no benefit in it when I tried it. Spool is the same, boost is the same, and empty EGT's did not change. Only when loaded or towing did it seem to help any.
