Yeah, I think you're right. You would need a 4 man 6.9 saw. Just proves that too long of a PNW winter and rednecks are a bad (good) combination

Some of the neighbors back in Texas fish for catfish in their stock pond with guns. It took quite a while to get used to the south after living in God's country (PNW) for so long.

Too many snapping turtles for me.

I fish rod and reel. I fish tournaments around here on the Ohio River. I used to travel but not anymore. It has gotten to expensive. I can go about anywhere on the big rivers and be competitive but it is hard to beat a guy that is good on his home water. I like fishing fast water. That is kinda become my style. I fish Garcia 7000 reels on BWC 2202 Uglystick Tiger rods. I use Ande mono in 60#. I have tried allot of rigs and that has ended being my favorite. They aren't very expensive and that combo can handle a big fish in fast water. The fast water being the key. When you have to run 16 to 20 onces of lead to hold big bait it really makes your choice of rods and reels for you. Also when you fish a fast action heavy rod you have to use a pretty healthy line. There is no forgiveness in a rod like that.
