they're really loud and ALOT of fun....perfect fit for the X...
these pics are before i had them fully plumbed and wired..it's alot of work to do it right..a switch on the dash turns it from factory to HOOOOONNNNNNNNNKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
I've been looking at some train horns too. Every SD or X owner with a lifted truck has them in my area and I'm starting to feel left out. How do you like 'em?
Slow drivers in my area need the fear of God put into them to understand that 45 is the speed limit not 35 or 30.
Are there any horns like this that are electric and not air operated? I like the idea of a louder horn but don't really want to mess with an air system. Plus that air tank looks like it hangs down a fair bit.
That looks like a nice setup...... those look like a Viair compressor and tank. Nice equipment, I have two of the compressors on my setup and they last forever. Depending on how you mounted the compressor, you might get a little noise and vibration inside but not too much. Both my wife and I love our horns... so much that we added a second set (8 Trumpets in all).

the tank is right above my running boards...looks like it's down, but it's not...
no heart attacks so far(that i know of)...you do have to think about when you will play with them...some places/people are just not appropriate to blast..
How do you have them wired? Do you have wired into your horn circuit?
If not... then you should. I have had more fun with my Hadleys because of this... my remote double button lock toot turns heads and it is even more fun when you hit the panic button ... I've been on the ground almost wetting myself because I'm laughing so hard... priceless.

Check out my gallery for pics of my set up.
i actually did take it from the horn circuit in the CJB...i have a switch on the dash to change between factory and air horns(via stock horn button)..same switch also closes the relay to run the compressor...also have a couple of LED's for pump status(running/full) that i mounted on my A-pillar....
