trying to find out if i can drop a 6.9 diesel into my 74 f250. it already has a 390 but its out of power and needs alot of work. and gas milage is not that great either. also will my c-6 tranny bolt to the 6.9??
c6 should bolt up fine. I'm not sure about the mounts but you should have room and the wireing should also be fairly easy. You may also need new fuel tanks for a diesel.

The FE C6 will not work behind the diesel. You'll need to find a diesel C6 to match the bellhousing pattern.
If you are referring to the FE C6, you would have to get an adapter plate made up to make it work, it won't even come close to bolting up, a 460 comes close, but not quite. A headache you will have to see if will work out is the steering linkage clearing the oil pan, as it runs behind the crossmember, while the diesel trucks run it ahead of the cross.
yeah, you could use a cable linkage setup from a newer truck. the VRV uses vacuum from the pump, and the throttle at the IP to create a signal the modulator can use to shift correctly

I think his truck is a 4wd, so that shouldn't be an issue.
