Yeah, I know they do. They had to for class eligibility But, I don't think Mark has posted any numbers because it doesn't sound like he bought one. Just posted the picture of what was on Ebay. I'm not saying they would exist or not, just offering a possibility of why they wouldn't show up in a parts list.
Here you go (again) headed off for another one of your immature tyrades. Like I said buddy, just because your book doesn't show it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Your ignorance shines through, you can't even see the width difference between a 400 and a Cleveland manifold.
You will get a lot farther here in FTE & life in general when you can finally admit you could be wrong. You made a statement and I proved you wrong, get over it.
Mark
All you've done is post a pic of a 4V manifold, where's the proof in that?
When you post the ID numbers, and they turn out to be from a 400 engine with a 4V carb, then I will admit to being wrong.
The pictured manifold has to be at least 1973, because that was the first year for EGR valves on Fords.
AFAIK, I'm the only FTE member (out of how many?) with Ford passenger car parts catalogs, from any year.
I'm one of roughly 2 dozen or so FTE members who have any truck parts catalogs.
If more ppl on FTE had parts catalogs, there would be less bickering over what Ford did and didn't do.
FTE reputation: You've been a member for 4 years, have 2,742 posts and one green square, compare that reputation with mine.
A 4V carb was not available on any Ford F100/350 with a 351M or 400 engine (1977/82).
It was not available on the cars with 351M's (1975/79) or 400's (1971/79) either.
351M/400 = 2V carbs only (that also includes 1978/82 Bronco's and 1980/82 Econolines).
not to argue with u, but i also understood that 351m's were available with 4v or 2v, but the 400 was only 2v. my dad ordered his 77 new from the factory with a 4v 351m, and my old highboy had a 400 with what i was told was a 351m 4v cast iron intake. sorry i dont have access to either one right now to try to get casting numbers, but when i can i will dig this thread up and post them.
I can post every single reference to these engines if need be.
Remember in 1977-78 the industry was heading towards Dirty Emissions systems not performance.
Only those 212 HP 460's were getting 4v's to keep them Trailer pulling/camper hauling trucks from not rolling back down steep grade mountainous highways.
my opologies to numberdummy, and anyone else i disagreed with. upon closer inspection of my dads 77, i found out that it is actually a 2v. dont know why ive thought it was a 4v for the last 15 years or so but its not. and my 77 highboy does in fact have a 4v intake, but its not factory. it is a streetmaster. i believe it is cast iron but i did not have a magnet with me when i was looking for the part numbers. sorry to take so long but at least the info is on here now.
