Bed Size?

I'm looking to buy a 1980 - 1986 F150. Does anyone know the bed length of a short bed in single cab form? Also, measurement between wheel wells? I'm just wondering if I can carry 4x8 sheets of whatever with the tailgate down. Thanks,

length 6.5 feet for the shortbox
a sheet will fit between the wheel humps.
you can haul panels with the gate down.
