Starting w/accelerator pressed?

I just read in the manual "DO NOT START VEHICLE WITH ACCELERATOR PRESSED". I was wondering what would happen if someone did...any ideas? I have always heard that you could crank it w/that pedal on the floor if you are having starting problems...true? false?

our isuzus said on the visors to press the pedal to the floor for cold starts, iv done it on my truck in an effort to get it to start easyer when its realy cold, i think the pcm overrides the tps seems to have no effect on starting good or bad
