Drag link adjuster

My stock stamped steel tie rod sleeve appears to be bowing out a little. Is there a cast/forged aftermarket available. I've seen them on smaller applications.

Not that I know of. I just ordered a MOOG sleeve to make an adjustable drag link and it is formed flat steel.

How is it bowed?

It' appears that the diameter of the clamped area and the un-clamped is .25-.5" different. I think I'd rather see a solid/forged/cast sleeve with jamb nuts.

More than that, I had the wheels off today and the ball joints are fine. I need to replace the ESOF vacuum lines, but since nothing else is wrong I have to nit pick the steering.

What you describe is correct. I'm not sure why it is that way, perhaps to locate the clamps. One advantage to this type is when an adjustment is needed, it will open up to allow it to turn. B/C of the type of thread, as I am finding with my track bar project, it would be difficult to make a solid threaded adjuster like you describe. Personally, I don't have a problem with the steel one. You can see how much it is threaded, it is less likely to loosen up (not that there is much chance of a jamb nut loosening), not likely to crack or split, and it is easier to adjust should the need arise.
