Would it do any good to change one of the batts out w/a deep cycle for the heavier winch loads since they are wired in parallel?
That's not advisable. Both batteries should be the same Type & CCA rating and should always be replaced in pairs even if only 1 is weak or bad. The weaker battery will be a draw on the stronger battery.
Well....except for all the 25, 35, 45 and 50 mph speed zones and the speed cops that have nothing else to do it would be nice here.

Once I got through Albuquerque the rest of the trip went well. I spent a few days in St. Louis and got snowed on. The truck had never seen snow or salt before and don't even know what rust is. Next winter I'll have to get something else to drive, I'm not gonna trash this one with salt.
