Dana 70 Swap
Will a dana 70 from a 86 F250/F350 HD work in a 1977 F250 highboy. Would it be the same width? What woud i have to do to make it work? relocate the spring perches. Is a dana 70 much better than a 60. Would it be worth the effort to do this swap?

The spring perches would need to be moved. Shock mounts would need reworked. You will need the spring top plates & U bolts for the 70, the tubes are bigger. E-brake cables will work. Lug nuts will be 9/16" on the 70. The Dana 60 yoke will bolt on but depending on how much slip yoke you have you might have to shorten the shaft.
Unless you are hauling some heavy loads or running some big tires it's probably not worth changing.
