Differential I.d.
Hi there, I'm new and have spent about a week reading threads. I wanted to learn as much as possible about my truck before asking questions. I would like to find out more about my differential. I know that someone there is very good at breaking down the numbers. 1963 flare side

I have found most everything from reading the threads.All my numbers are readable. I have a problem that one or two others have had.My differential seems to be odd. The little plate between the bolts read CITT-BU 2329 5-63 4.38 ON THE AXLE 5 23B 2393 WHERE THE MODEL# looks to be on others has an 80. Would someone help with this Thanks.

Your axle as stock was 26 A spicer with 4.88 gears and 5k rating. so the 3 is actually a 8

3600 RPM where maximum HP is produced

Thanks for the reply. The truck has overloads and they look factory. the truck is very clean and all the # on the door the right side frame and differential are clear. The overloads may exsplain the weight but what does the 80 bottom right stand for. and if is nothing what type rear end is it.other than the over loads the truck is a plane jane. no frills on it at all. SORRY I SEE WHERE YOU SAID IT WAS A SPICER 4.88 . THANKS AGAIN.
