Rims and paint
Hello
Well my project is finally coming to the point where I have it almost ready to paint and should finally purchase some rims. It has been 4 years and im glad im starting to see the end in the tunnel. I have only drove this truck once since pulling it out of its last parking spot that it sat in nearly 20 years. Im thinkin a nice blue or red colour with some cragar ss or torque thrust II's. Im looking for a sporty truck because its no longer original. Also could somebody decode the vin for me. 5991028L-2137 68A 13 TT. This is a mercury truck by the way and I very curious as to the original paint colour. Does TT stand for tropical torquise? Thanks a bunch. Lets see some trucks.

99 = Conventional Cab with Pickup Box.
10 = M100
28 = 128" Wheelbase
L = Left Hand Drive
213768 = 1965 (the figure of 68 belongs here)
A = Gross Vehicle Weight Rating Range of 3800 to 5600 lbs.
13 = Medium Green Crush Vinyl & Medium Green Ladder Pattern Woven Plastic
TT = Dynasty Green (1965 Canada only)

Note to fellow FTE members. I only have this Canadian information for 1965, not for previous years except 1953.
The Canadian trucks assembled after 1965 use the same VIN and other info the US assembled trucks do.

Is the colour dynasty green similiar to the mustang colours. I have very little original paint on the truck and im trying to get a feel for the colour. http://www.mustangforums.com/archive...1754882-1.html Check out that link showing a dynasty green mustang. Is it similiar thanks a ton.

Well I went to buy paint today and the guy told me TT was not a paint code. I then told him dynasty green but he said it was a mustang colour. So does this truck have a mustang colour on it? I would like to order paint tommorow but I need to know what to order. Thanks a bunch

Theres several places to look...under the seat as Bill said, on the doors UNDER the weatherstripping, the rear of the inside of the cab is a possibility...or possibly on the rear cab corners which you can get a good look at from under the truck.

I know what the colour looks like but how does that help me when the paint guy wants a paint code and he told me that the paint code TT does not exsist.

Use a razor and take a 1" section of paint off from somewhere (skim it up) take it down there and tell the pudd to match it. If he gives you a dumb look, leave and find a real paint store.
