Gary, Thanks for the measurement. I have thought about rebuilding the pedal bracket to move the booster mount forward. I may just do that in the end. I currently have the truck 95 percent assembled for sheet metal fitup . I plan to blow it back apart this summer. With it down to the full chassis and knowing your dimensions, I will either replace the booster or move/rebuild the bracket that I built. I have to maintain the pedal pivot at the same location since I am using the stock pedal itself and the same thru the floorboard oval hole. The bracket that I built is currently just tacked to the frame.

Sounds like you have a handle on it and I`m sure you will work it out.
BTW I got my electrical problem fixed. Was a short in the head light-
parking light harness. All is well.

53OlderThanMe Looking at your pic what did you use to hold the pedal on the mount?

Its a big pin I bought from mid-fifty for using the brake without the clutch pedal and linkage. Has a large head on one side and nut/cotter on the other end.

If you went mid-fifty I hope they don't screw you on shipping like they did me. It was and will be the last time I order from them. Thirty dollar part and $15 for shipping. When I called to question it all I got was a verbal shoulder shrug.

Power Booster Bracket Trouble

Greetings,
I am now getting ready to install the same booster, etc from CPP in my F-1 so this is all very informative. Looking at the photo of actual installation and the rear of the C-4, my question is how did you support the rear of the C-4?
Did you leave the original cross member in ?? If so did you have to modify or cut it??

Thanks

Yea they can be steep sometimes on shipping. I always get a shipping quote first before i commit the order due to them trying to hit me with a big price for shipping on an order once.

I used a universal mount for the rear of the tranny, there is a picture of it earlier in this thread or visit my web site in my signature for more pictures. I left the original xmember in place as I had plenty of clearance. Not sure if that will hold true with your F1.

There is a rubber mount on the universal cross member and I had to use 2" spacers to raise the rear of the tranny up so the engine sat level.

Good luck.

Greetings and thanks for the response. Your pictures are excellent. I have gone down the same road as you; front end rebuild, disc brakes, Ford 9", and '71 302 and C-4, new rear springs, original front ones. I am just now getting ready to put the brake booster in and then the engine/tranny.
I notice you didn't use headers. What exhaust manifolds did you use? The stock ones on mine woudl not clear the steering column.
Thanks again

I'll be going headers soon, just looking for a decent price on a set of block huggers. Currently I have 2 different exhaust manifolds, 71 Torino on passenger side and 70 Maverick on the drivers side. I offset my engine 1/2" to the passenger side to help with clearance later as I plan to do the Toyota PS conversion also. I kinda wish I had offset a full inch but I think I'll be ok with the block huggers. At the time I was worried about it looking awkward with too much offset.
